WHY WE CHOOSE BRITANNIA SILVER

We often get asked, why do we use Britannia silver, and what makes it so special.

Most silver jewellery is made from sterling silver, which must be at least 92.5% pure (marked 925). While some sterling pieces can be purer, 925 is the legal minimum requirement.

Britannia silver on the other hand, has a higher standard - it must be at least 95.8% pure (marked 958). That extra silver content gives it a naturally brighter, whiter shine and helps it resist tarnishing for longer. It's also slightly softer, making it ideal for capturing the organic detail and texture that define our designs.

We use Britannia silver for nearly all our jewellery, with the exception of bangles, which require the extra strength of sterling silver due to their rigid, open forms. This ensures both beauty and durability in every piece.
